MERT Skis are custom fit, custom made hand-crafted skis. One of our associates would love to ski with you, evaluate the way you ski, learn what you want in a ski, and provide a few different MERT Skis for you to try out. We are located in Connecticut and can arrange fittings in the Berkshires, Catskills, Eastern New York, and Vermont. See our price list for the fitting charge.

If a personal fitting is not convenient, we can learn most of what we need to know through a questionnaire and information that you can gather for us on the slopes. Bill Merten, owner and designer will also give you a call at your convenience to talk with you and determine what it is that you actually want in a ski.

To start with, download “Ski Tracks” onto your smart phone. If you do not already have it, you’ll be amazed at the statistics it provides. When answering the questions on the questionnaire, remember this is not a contest. People using “Ski Tracks” may try to maximize their speed, vertical, etc. Using these stats may produce a ski that requires more effort than you want to expend all day long.

So let’s get to the questionnaire. You will have to provide personal information. Rest assured that Mert Skis will not share this information, except that which might be required for setting bindings, with anyone outside of the Mert Skis organization.
